Letting Your Gas Tank Run Empty Is the Cardinal Sin of Winter Driving

Your vehicle has to be prepped and well-maintained during the winter months, and one way to make sure it keeps running is to keep the gas tank full. It might seem like a financial burden, especially with gas prices being high, but it's very necessary to prevent vehicle engine stops. Your gas tank should always be above half full just so your vehicle can start.

A gas tank left less than half full will allow condensation to occur. Water from that condensation sinks through the gas in the tank and gets trapped in the fuel lines. In those lines, it can freeze and block any gas flow, thereby causing engine failure. That's why you should always do yourself a favor and keep your tank full.
